We have been discussing the ideas of theocentric, antropocentric and biocentric. Being an environmental science major, I tend to lean more towards the biocentric idea. I agree more with Paul taylor than I agree with Schweiter. Taylor believes that we should have a respect for mature. He has 4 thesis: one being humans are equal members of the community of all beings, two Earth is a web of mutaul dependance. We depend on nature. Three, every member of the biotic community is valuable simply because it is. Finally, the biocentric conclusion idea of human superiority is only an expression of human racism. Overall they both have good ideas but I generally think that we should give respect to nature.
